I was desperately searching for a conditioner without polyquats (ingredients that might be thought of as toxic) and this was the only one I could fine out of all mainstream brands, and I am so grateful for Neals Yard for making it. I don't find it super conditioning, as in I don't feel it makes any difference whether I leave it on for an hour or rinse it off immediately, either way the effect is the same, and that is it leaves my hair feeling softer and more manageable. Its not a huge difference but it makes my hair much easier to deal with when dry. Is it very conditioning, no, am I still searching for a deep conditioning hair mask, yes, but it does what I want it to do and I am very happy with it. I find the shampoo and conditioner lids a bit iffy, so I simply remove the tops and take a blob out.
I have been using this conditioner for several years now together with the matching shampoo. I have to say I find the product is perfect for my fine, short, coloured hair. It conditions my hair to just the right level without leaving it heavy and limp. The end result is when I blow dry it and style it, it leaves it full of body, shiny and enhances the colour of my hair. it looks healthy, vibrant and full of life.
Having read reviews for the lavender hair care, I was only persuaded by a friend to try this shampoo and conditioner. I have fine thin hair and use the conditioner as a scalp mask before shampooing. It calmed the redness and itching. I feel that my hair and scalp are not drying out, but my fine hair still has a bounce to it and not drowned in oil. I do understand that if people want more foaming agent, this may not be the shampoo for them, but I am really happy that NYR are providing an alternative to other "natural" shampoos that seem to compensate for the lack of sulfates with other foaming ingredients that irritate my scalp.
I have very fine, very long hair. I have been using the Lavender Conditioner for a couple of years now, and I'm very happy with it. I noticed some people think that it is hard to work through their hair. I always work a dab between my wet fingers for a few seconds, before I work it into my hair. B.t.w, I'm over 60, I've used a lot of conditioner over the years, this is one of the best, and I love the scent.
I love this conditioner, my kids have very fine hair and it's perfect. Most conditioners weigh their hair down and make it look greasy, but this one is just right and smells lovely. I wish I could afford it for my own hair!
If I had read the reviews before using this product I would never have bought it, but it was a gift a year ago and I have been buying it every since. I have a lot of very fine hair and this conditioner tames my hair so that I don't need to use hair straighteners to control it. I prefer it without using the lavender shampoo first (I use another Soil Association approved shampoo) as it left my hair looking rather oily. It didn't get 5 stars because of the difficulty in getting it out of the bottle. Given how long NY have known about this problem, why haven't they done something about it?
I have been using this conditioner with the shampoo for a few months now, my hair has never been better. I have fine curly hair. From my experiences this conditioner MUST be used with the accompanying shampoo otherwise it is too stripping, which I found out from using the conditioner on it's own or with different shampoo's/cleansers. The 'shampoo' is oil based and is more like a pre-poo and then the 'conditioner' is more cleansing/stripping, washing the oily shampoo away, I had no need for deep conditioner afterwards. As I said in the review for the shampoo, curly haired people are used to adding moisture first, this might be strange to people who are used to using a foaming shampoo and then conditioning. My hair is left very easy to comb through. I don't have problems with getting it out of the bottle. Sometimes I can smell the acv for a while after washing but it's not that strong.
Smells gorgeous but I have fine hair, A LOT of it. I have used this three thimes and almost finished the bottle because, as oter reviews have said, it is so difficult to get through the hair. And then it's really hard to rinse. Sadly disappointed
