Great creamy shampoo

Good to control curls in thin dry hair

I'm leaving the same review here as I left on Waitrose's site. I bought this Neal's Yard lavender shampoo at Waitrose, and the matching conditioner, because my hair is thin and dry, and tends to wave with humidity (I'm a white man with short to medium length brown hair). The packaging says "control curls and frills". It works as advertised. I wash my hair once a day. At first it's surprising because compared to normal shampoos, it doesn't lather much and the hair feels a bit oily afterwards. I then blow-dry my hair, and then it stays straight and supple, whereas before it would have curled and had enormous volume. It doesn't feel oily after drying. It's also interesting that the first ingredient on the list is a natural oil, where it is usually some kind of sodium lauryl or laureth sulfate. So far, so good.

A very good shampoo.

I’ve read various reviews. It is thicker, as some people say and doesn’t come out of the cap. I remove cap. I wet my hair and rub the shampoo between my palms. It does lather! I use a smaller amount for the second wash. It rinses out well but I have the shower head near my head! My 80+ year old hair loves it!

This shampoo is beautifully scented and adds lots of moisture to my hair.

Excellent for very dry hair

If you have very dry hair then this is an excellent shampoo that will not strip, dry or damage your hair. However, if you do not have particularly dry hair, or you use conventional conditioners and styling products (especially silicone ingredients), then you may find this doesn't clean your hair enough because it is VERY gentle. It does not lather and it has a consistency more like conditioner than shampoo, but it does magically clean your hair. Personally I love it and it's the first shampoo I've found that really genuinely doesn't dry out my hair and is actually gentle and non-stripping. If you use the Curly Girl Method then this could be your holy grail (it's mine). However, if your hair type is like mine (dry, curly, fragile, porous) then I would avoid Neal's yard "Nurturing Rose Shampoo for Dry & Damaged Hair" as it is very harsh and will.... dry and damage your hair.
