If you like to blend your own moisturiser, Neil’s yard professional face and body cream is the ideal solution.
I have been using this as a body lotion for many years. I find it serves it's purpose to keep my dry, sensitive and eczema prone skin nicely moisturised. Sometimes it can feel a little sticky, I notice this when there is humidity in the air or on hot day but that's ok as I know my skin likes this product. I like the fact you can customise the cream to suit needs. When my skin is exceptionally dry I like to add some extra oils such as shea, grapeseed or olive for an extra boost of moisturise. I have occasionally used essential oils when I want a fragranced body lotion and my skin is calm just to change things up a little. I often get compliments when I do this. Over the years I have noticed the thickness of the product has changed as the product seems a little thinner and more runny but still get a similar result and may have to use a little more. This is the one product I repeatedly buy at Neal's Yard and hope they continue to make this. Highly recommend it.
Been using this for about one year. Initially bought it for body thinking "I'll never put body lotion on my face". But it turns out this is better than any other cream I used before. My skin doesn't get as dry in the cold weather and has less redness too. I combine it with a facial serum for a general look of health and glow and really like the results. It lasts along time too (around 3 months - and that's becausy boyfriend started using it too).
This is an organic lotion with a velvety feel to it. It leaves my skin silky smooth, also a little goes a long way!
I have very dry skin and need something really hydrating every day. I’m also sensitive to fragrance and wanted something as natural as possible. This product has been so good to find. I use it on my face too.
It absorbs well.
Thank you Neals Yard! (Please keep the fragrance free products, it’s so important for some of us).
I've been using this "make your own" lotion for a while, however I don't actually add anything to it, I just use it as is. I experience adverse skin reactions to so many things both cosmetic and non, e.g. animals, pollen, many synthetic additives/preservatives/detergents, and "perfumes/fragrances" - both artificial and even non-artificial such as geraniol/limonene/linalool etc. so even "naturally fragranced" products containing essential oils are just as bad of an option for me. This means I almost never find any skin products suitable for me as it's rare to find anything non-fragranced in ~any~ way, so I usually just make my own body butters etc.
Stumbling upon this lotion I didn't see anything on its ingredients list that set off alarm bells, and I'm pleased to report that it indeed doesn't provoke any reaction from my extremely sensitive skin (For context: I've gotten contact dermatitis more than once just by washing my hands with a harsher soap as a one-off, most mainstream laundry detergents - even the purported "sensitive skin" ones - break me out in hives etc.
So all in all, while I obviously can't guarantee that a product that works for me won't trigger your own allergies, I'd say it's certainly worth a shot to anyone with overly-dramatic skin.
-Consistency is good but definitely on the thick side (think sun cream - it'll leave thick white smears if applied to dry skin). To remedy this, I simply apply it while I'm still wet after a shower.
-Smell is absolutely fine; it does have ~a~ smell to it (earthy) but it's subtle and to my nose it isn't unpleasant at all - although disclaimer I'm very used to using products without the myriad overpowering scents of the modern cosmetics industry, so it may well be akin to how sweetness of sugary foods is differently perceived by people who eat lots vs. little sugar.
- Applies well to eczema/contact dermatitis without exacerbating the issues like most purported "eczema" creams actually do.
-Is indeed suitable to use as a face cream, it has never caused me any spots/clogged pores/greasiness (although I've never consistently used it as a daily face cream, and I generally have very clear skin that's on the drier side so not prone to grease or spots and drinks up moisturising oils quite readily)
-Price is high but I find a little goes a long way and it lasts ages.
Gorgeous base of the three for adding your essential oils. Purchasing for a long time now and couldn’t be without them. Excellent way of making your own….gorgeous 🙏
Perfect for any part of the body. Add aromatherapy drops for added vavavoom.
